Lemony Slushy

We are already trying to avoid the heat of summer. Lemons have been a steady theme at our house. I made {not to sweet} fresh lemonade and my boys want it all the time. Unfortunately for them, I am not going to spend all summer squeezing lemons, so here is another refreshing drink. It is simple and inexpensive. Country Time Lemonade made it into the Long Shelf Life list. It has a shelf life of 2 years. Perfect summer treat.

First the fresh stuff...
Freshly Squeezed Lemonade
2 quarts water
7-8 Lemons, {squeezed}
3/4 cup sugar
Blend ingredients together and enjoy.

Lemony Slushy
½ cup country time lemonade, dry
½ cup water
½ ice cubes
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
Add ½ cup raspberries or strawberries for variation.

Hmm...this made me think. I was given hundreds of lemons last year and I added strawberry puree and canned strawberry lemonade concentrate. I wonder how that would work as a slushie...maybe diluted by half instead of times three. Hmmmm....something to think about !
