Growing from Seeds + Spy Winner

Seeds are growing at our house. I have only started gardening since we moved out East, so planting seeds is still very much a test of faith for me. I have hope that there is something that is going to come from those little speckles of seeds. I am sure that after a few years I will feel more confident with this task.

I will have gained some knowledge and experience so when I plant those seeds, my confidence will be more sure. I suppose gardening takes faith even for the experienced gardener because even when you know that the seeds are going to grow there are other things that can get in the way such as disease, weather, bugs, animals, and all the unexpected. I had read that it is good to..."soak pea seeds overnight in water before planting them. This will insure strong germination."

This is a comparison of the seed that was soaked and the seed that was not soaked. It really does get the peas off to a good start. So, in my enthusiasm of this new discovery, I thought that I would do this to all of my seeds. Then as my little seeds were soaking I read that some seeds you do not want to soak, so I am still learning about that. The seeds are planted, so we will see what grows! I made my own greenhouse by placing all the small planters in one of my large planting buckets and then putting plastic wrap securely over the top.

The winner of the
secret super spy
giveaway is

I just found your blog and I love it! I can't wait to try the fruit snack recipe! Who knew? :) I just read your blog from beginning to end and you do a great job. Did you end up growing potatoes in the garbage can? I have been wanting to do that for several years now. I am the emergency preparedness "specialist" in my ward and I think it's the best calling!
